More random October

Gram came for a visit the first week of October. We visited the Memphis Zoo and had lots of fun just hanging out doing our thing. We really appreciated her time...I know how much teachers enjoy their fall breaks and she gave hers up to us! We love you mom:)
Hannah started walking!!! Around October 9th sweet little love took off and hasn't stopped since. She is loving every  minute of being able to get into anything and everything.

We made a lot of fall crafts...like the green monsters behind Caroline. And we wore Halloween colors as much as possible.

Such a fun month...it went by so quickly. I know November will be the same. Slow down time. My girls are growing up way to fast.

Someone had a birthday...

How in the world was this just one year ago?
 And now...
Hannah Elizabeth- you are so precious to us. We love you more than you can imagine.
You are the perfect toddler and we LOVE spending our lives with you:)

Birthday party pics to come...I just had to document this before another month passed;)

Pumpkin Patch 2012

Mid October Nana and Niki came to visit! We had a blast and took Nana to her first pumpkin patch. They picked out 3 perfect pumpkins and enjoyed all the fun Bobrooks had to offer.
A corn pit...

A growth chart...we can compare them to last year:)

 Wagon rides and pumpkin picking...

 A sunflower maze...

 Giant scarecrows...
Picture perfect train tracks (minus the ant bites we all got during these pictures)

 A hayride...
And then we headed home to spend the evening carving Jack and Jill- our 2 little Jack o lanterns.

Emily loved the goo...Caroline enjoyed the process.

Halloween 2012

Meet the cast.
Ariel- The Little Mermaid who LOVED everything about getting dressed up. She hand painted the sea star for her hair clip, checked on her costume daily, and planned out what we would say and how we would act. She shined. Could have been the sequins...or just her little personality.

Ariel- The Littlest Mermaid who wasn't quite interested in dressing up in ANY costume... even though she had been saying how she was going to be Ariel all month. I had to beg her to put it on, and she took it off promptly after I snapped these pictures. Then I threw it back on her while she was in her carseat on the way to the fall festival. Forgive the attitude and the wild hair...she was being wrestled into a mermaid costume.

A Peacock. Yes, I know. I feel a little bit bad for not including her in the "Under the Sea" theme...but I promise she didn't mind. She was a cute little peacock. She didn't care for the hat so as soon as she discovered it it was history. And I didn't mind. Whatever works for this crew.

(Caroline was being very serious about this and was disappointed that Emily was taking it so lightly- At this moment Emily was out of her costume, dragging in the dirt, swinging. Totally not a mermaid thing to do.;)

Either way, I had them all assembled, dressed, and in the van by 5:00 and we were off to the church for a fun fall festival!! I was reminded several times that last year I was still in the hospital with newborn baby Hannah when Brad took the big girls to this same event. Crazy how time flies.
 The excitement was tangible...

We checked out the games and played a lot of them to fill our buckets with yummy candy and fun prizes.

Then daddy showed up! Yay!! In costume of course.

Emily continued in her "2 year old ways" and decided she didn't want to play any games- she wanted to sit and eat suckers. Fine with me:)
Hannah shook her tail feathers and showed off her new strut.
Caroline and Emily both got to milk these "cows". Rather odd festival game, but they liked it:)
All in all it was a great night and we had a blast at our church fall fest. We left there around 6:30 to go trick or treat at a few neighbors houses. We also hung out across the street at the block party our neighbors throw each year. Caroline continued to say what a GREAT night she was having, Emily asked to go to sleep, and Hannah started her night time singing. We got home and settled around 8:00. I was pooped. I enjoyed seeing the girls have a great time but I'm thankful we just do this once a year:)

A walk down memory lane at Halloweens in the past:
1st Halloween-Caroline as a peacock

2nd Halloween- Caroline is a flower and Emily was a ladybug...both very serious or tired.
3rd Halloween- Emily is a Zebra, Caroline a Jaguar, and Hannah was a newborn.
We are so blessed by having these sweet girls in our lives. I can't wait for all the many more years down the road.
Happy Halloween!
