I am so blessed...and I cannot wait until #3 joins in the fun. I often get asked if they are twins...despite OBVIOUS differences, of course they are not...but as close as you can get to it :)
*Note: As fabulous as it is to have them side by side all day long it also creates a lot of "sharing" battles that must be solved. My official job title may as well change to referee. But I have the joy of teaching them the correct way in playing together and it makes my heart smile when I see them doing it the right way.
This is a video..but you cannot see anything. Just recorded the sound of the 2 girls being silly at bedtime. Emily is a ham...she LOVES to make her big sister laugh. And laugh she did! Caroline is tripping out at Em who is apparently "booty dancing" in her crib across the room and is saying "Do it again!!" Right now I let them play as long as they don't get too rowdy. I imagine one day I will have to go in and regulate...but right now their giggles are music to this mamas soul.
Last week was rough. Brad was working tons, had a trip to Dallas, and was stressed about grand rounds presentation. I was at home, alone, and so tired. It is amazing how God gets you through these "valleys" where for DAYS you feel like it is NEVER going to look better. But then, slowly, things start looking better. Moods change...but so do hearts. My heart was so "tired" last week. But after some reflection, reorganizing, and refreshing time with God, things are looking better this week! I'm so thankful that the Lord knows JUST how much we can handle...and always helps us get through the hard days/weeks/months/years.
And I cannot complain for long- just look at these 3:)
We purchased our first bottle of Johnson's No More Tangles today. This was THE only way my mom could ever even touch my hair as a little girl...and I'm picking up the same trend in my curly, long-locked little sweeties. We now have a after-bath routine of laying on Mommy's bed and drying our hair with the hair dryer. Beauty regimens start early!
This morning was Hannahs first morning in the nursery at church! She did wonderful and was well taken care of. I think I was more stressed out than she was, but it continues to be true that the third time around things are just easier!! She will be three months old on the 25th and I cannot believe how fast she is growing up. Thankful she and I both had some time apart to be rejuvenated! Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
Today when I picked the big girls up from Mothers Day Out they both were in great moods...which is fabulous because it means they got a good nap. Each time I pick them up I try as hard as I can to get a recap of the day from Caroline. Today's conversation had me laughing out loud. This was hilarious...especially if you know Caroline, how obsessed she is with smelling things, and how obsessed her daddy is with smelling things. I'm changing the names in this story to protect the innocent 3 year olds involved....
Me: Caroline, how was your day?
Me: What did you do today?
C: We just hanged out and stuff like that.
Me: What did you learn about?
C: Ruth. She met a good man.
Me: You're right. She did. What else?
C: Nothing else.
Me: Did you play with your friends? Was Mary there today?
C: Yes. She smells kinda different.
Me: What? Mary smells different?
Me: Like, good different or bad different? (laughing)
C: Like bad different. She smells different. She kinda smells like Mary.
Me: Ok...well was Dave there? What is he like?
C: Yes. He smells good.
Me: Was Mara there?
C: Yes, she smells good too.
Me: What are the other kids names?
C: Chris and Charlie. Chris had a Happy Meal with Mexican food.
Me: Hmmm...sounds good. So, what is Mary like again? (testing this out to see if she would answer the same)
C: She smells kinda different.
Me: Ok, well I missed you girls today.
May not strike you as funny as it did to me. I asked her again later to tell me once again about her classmates...and she reaffirmed that "Mary" smelled different. I may have to take a sniff next week. LOL.
