We were invited by Rachel to join her and Mary Ellen at a MOPS Easter Egg hunt today. It was a lot of fun and Caroline had it down this time around- the eggs went into her basket! She really enjoyed the baby goats that they had for them to pet. She was hilarious- she gave them kisses and inspected their hooves. She was precious. Emily wasn't into the hunt today so we played fast and headed home. We look forward to joining the MOPS group next semester when they start up again.

Tummy time anyone?
I would like some tummy time...in my bed with my eyes closed! The doctor asked if Emily had started having her "tummy time" and recommended spending some time each day on her belly to strengthen her neck, etc. I'm not sure how she is going to do it with big sister around... JK she is doing great with her tummy time. She actually feel asleep today on her tummy while I wasn't looking- she'll do that! She falls asleep in seconds flat when you don't want her to! :) Oh I love her sleepy self so much!
She has started smiling at me this week...although this picture didn't capture it. She weighed 10 lbs 7 ounces at her 1 month appointment- which puts her in the 90% for weight (following in big sisters footsteps!) and she was only in 50% for her head and height. She was just perfect and is growing like crazy- she is officially out of her newborn sleepers and has graduated to her 0-3 month stash. Caroline has started calling her name- it doesn't sound anything like Emily, but she says "Enya" over and over for her. She is so aware of her little sister that every time I ask her if she wants to go outside, on the back porch, or anywhere she always looks at me with wonder and checks to make sure Emily is with us. She is so loving to Emily that it melts my heart every time I see her hug, kiss, or hold her little sister. These are the moments that only a mommy can treasure in her mind...I wish that when they were older I could share this special time with them (especially when they are fighting over clothes or something like that! ). I guess the videos will have to suffice. :)
This video is pretty silly...but Caroline was cracking up at me during dinner. Please disregard how rough and silly I look- I'll do anything to get that giggle going though!

Carolines First Easter Egg Hunt
We had a great week just the 4 of us. We went to small group on Tuesday night, had a play date on Wednesday, and I conquered my first trip out with both the girls on Friday to Babies R Us. They were both fabulous- Emily slept the whole time and Caroline enjoyed a lot of bribery with snacks. Today we had our first Easter Egg Hunt at the park in our neighborhood. Mary Ellen and her family joined us. Caroline and I had a "trial run" with the egg hunting on Friday afternoon in our front yard. She did so well...so well that she was a little tired of it today when the big event arrived. :) We got to relax at home with daddy all weekend and even go out to Mexican for dinner. It's been great. Tomorrow we will all head to church together and hopefully enjoy our day. Brad got out the lawn mower and cut our grass for the first time and it officially smells like spring! We are so excited. Caroline and I sat at our window and watched Brad go around and around with the lawn mower for atleast 30 minutes while Emily slept in the swing next to us (amazing to me since CGH never would! Emily also took a passy today for the first time! Yahoo!)
Here are some pictures of our own hunt and then the big hunt today. I am attempting to get the videos uploaded but forgive me if it doesn't happen tonight. They will be up soon. In our front yard
The 3 Amigas before the big Egg Hunt
They arrived in style...zebra snuggie and all. It was chilly at the beginning but soon warmed up. Perfect spring weather.
They had to wait until the "Egg Official" said they could begin their hunt so we had them strapped in the wagon until the clock struck 10:00 a.m. They didn't love that.
She actually looked at the camera...no smile, but hey, we're getting closer.
So many eggs...she was very particular about which ones she chose to pick up. She was a bit tired (no morning nap) and was not as eager as I thought she would be. She only filled her basket about half full. If only she knew at the beginning that they all had candy in them because once she figured that out she and Mary Ellen enjoyed A LOT of sugary treats.
We met a lot of new friends and families at the park this morning and look forward to some fun playdates ahead. We continue to LOVE our neighborhood and enjoy being out and about in this fabulous weather. We have another Easter Egg Hunt on Wednesday with Rachel and Mary Ellen's MOPS group. She has been attempting to color some Easter pictures for family and friends but I must say that coloring is not her favorite thing right now- she "acts" like she is coloring, but doesn't actually put the crayons on the paper. Stickers...that's where it is at right now. Coloring will come with time I'm sure.
In other news...Emily goes to the doctor on Tuesday for her 1 month appointment. Brad starts his ER rotation in April...which is shift work. He will be "on" about 4 nights, then off a few days, "on" a few days, then off a few and so on. Should be interesting. Most wives enjoy this rotation I think. We'll see. This month has been a breeze, I know we'll miss him next month.

Where did March go??
So here is a super speedy quick recap of the highlights of the past few weeks.
-Emily is an amazing little one! She is very laid back and very adaptable to her surroundings. She eats, sleeps, and stays awake for short increments of time every day. She sleeps anywhere from 3.5-4.5 hours at night and enjoys her naps so far during the day. She seems like she may be a little girly-girl...she HATES to have a dirty diaper, has the sweetest little scream when she needs a diaper change or is tired, makes super sweet faces and is very lovey. I realize we are still in the "honeymoon" newborn stage, but so far so good!
-Both girls have been to the doctor because they are sharing the same kind of cold...sneezes, lots of yucky noses, and congestion. Hopefully we are at the end of this sicky cycle.
-Brad is enjoying a fantastic rotation where he gets to study a majority of his day for his Step 3 test next month. This has been a great transition for our family. No weekend work and early evenings makes for a happy mommy!
-I am feeling fabulous! Recovery from Emily's birth has been better by leaps and bounds than from Caroline's birth. The C-section was hard, but not nearly as awful recovery. I still feel a little bit sore in my belly but was up and at 'em a few days after we got home. I go back to the doctor the first week of April for my 6 week check up and then my plan is to GET MOVING for real and shed these baby pounds!
-We are going on several Easter Egg hunts in the next few weeks. I can't wait to see how Caroline does. We are going to practice here a few times before so she'll get the concept.:)
-I have Caroline on a waiting list (2nd on the list) for a 2 day a week Mother's Morning Out/Preschool for the fall. It starts in August and goes through out the school year. It's from 8:30-12:30 and will give me a chance to spend some time with just Emily and will also give her some time with other kids every week. We hope this works out and get a phone call saying she's in.
-We are getting our plans ready to come to Georgia on April 19th for a week of fun with family and to celebrate with some of our best friends as they tie the knot. Justin and Maggie are getting married in Milledgeville on the 24th and Brad is in the wedding. We can't wait to see everyone.
-This has been our first week without the grandparents around to help out . We had a tremendous time with them here in Arkansas the past 3 weeks and cherished every second that we got to spend with them. Caroline and I were spoiled by them the whole time they were here. Caroline had so many fun trips- shopping, eating out, her first trip to Chuck E. Cheese...to just name a few. She was able to play outside every single day and enjoy the beautiful weather. Thank you grandparents...I don't think we would be thriving today if it weren't for you and your help.
-I have taken a picture of Emily each week that goes by and thought I would email one out to family each week but that hasn't happened yet...so here is the recap from the past 3 weeks.

Hello Shadow!
Caroline has found her shadow! She and nana were taking a walk to the park when she stumbled upon her new "friend". She loved it and examined it very carefully. Thank goodness we have had some wonderful sunny weather- it has been amazing! We can't wait to get out every day and enjoy the spring weather.
